Murderers' Row and Cano return, but Yankee bullpen is shaky

 
Last night’s game was a mixed bag, although it did have a happy ending. Let’s get started in squawking about it. The Yankees were without Joba Chamberlain, who rushed home to Nebraska to be with his ailing father. I read that Derek Jeter footed the bill for a private plane to get Joba back quickly. Very nice gesture. And the captain was back in the lineup last night, had two hits, and drove in two runs. That was part of the good news, along with Alex Rodriguez hitting his 521th homer and tying Ted Williams on the all-time list, and Johnny Damon, Morgan Ensberg, and Robinson Cano also hitting homers. Ian Kennedy’s good pitching performance was also a positive. It’s too bad he got hit in the hip by a line drive and had to get taken out of the game. Another plus was Chad Moeller, making his debut as catcher, getting his first hit as a Yankee.
