Nate Miles expelled from UConn
UConn’s chances to win a national championship took a big hit when 6-7 freshman forward Nate Miles - who had dominated summer pickup games in Storrs and had been compared to former Huskies’ star Coran Butler - was expelled from school following a university administrative hearing on allegations he abused a 19-year-old female student from nearby Manchester.
Miles was accused by the alleged victim of becoming physical and trying to pressure her into sex when she came to his dorm room. A restraining order was issued Sept. 22 and Miles was arrested after placing a call to the woman.
At Superior Court in Rockville, Miles answered felony charges of violating the restraining order and was referred to the court’s family relations staff for counseling and the charges could be dropped if he stayed out of further trouble.
But the university’s administrative board ruled that Miles’ sins warranted expulsion.
