The Washington Nationals have teamed with the D.C. and Virginia Lotteries to promote the D.C. Lottery's $2 Washington Nationals D.C. Scratcher. Walt Jocketty said after the game that the Reds have signed Rob Mackowiak, an infielder/outfielder that Washington released. He’ll play in Triple-A Louisville. Normally its the Nationals signing former Reds, but oh how the tables have turned!Hats Off to the PR Dept.

I've been critical of the Nats marketing dept. (the existence of Screech the chicken, failure to properly distribute T-Shirts via the rocket launcher, criticizing PDAs all the while doing the Kiss Cam during the games, etc.) but I have to admit that ...Gibbons so close, yet far -
