Nats to Send Milledge, Hanrahan to Pirates For Morgan, Burnett

 
The Washington Nationals and Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed in principle to a trade, with Washington sending perennial bust, outfielder and leadoff man Lastings Milledge and former closer Joel Hanrahan to the Pirates for outfielder and leadoff man Nyjer Morgan and reliever Sean Burnett. This is a definite win for the Nationals, dumping the dysfunctional Milledge to the Pirates for Morgan. The Nationals also get rid of its former closer Hanrahan and get Burnett in return. Burnett is having a decent year, with a 3.06 ERA, a 1-2 record, one save in two save opportunities, and Burnett has a 1.14 WHIP. Hanrahan is 0-3 with a 7.71 ERA, and five saves in 10 save opportunities. Hanrahan has a 1.96 WHIP. Morgan is hitting .277 with two home runs and 27 RBI. He has 77 hits in 71 games. Milledge is currently down in Triple-A Syracuse and has played in only seven games for the Nationals thus far. In those seven games, Milledge had a .167 average (4 for 24), no home ... (link)
