NBA: Houston Rockets making history

 
The Houston Rockets have shoot their way to equaling the NBA’s third longest win streak. After starting center Yao Ming went down with a season ending injury, many believed that win streak would come to an end.  Well, it hasn’t and now the streak is at 19 games and their 10 straight by double digits. Has Dikembe Mutombo been the inspiration they needed to keep the streak alive?  The 41 year old was brought in to make up for the loss of Ming.  In his last two games he’s had six blocked shots but what he does best is alter the opponents shot down low. The Rockets are also getting consistent play from their star player, Tracey McGrady.  The 6′8” forward is averaging 27.6 points and 5 rebounds a game in his last five. Most importantly, the Rockets closed to within one game of the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs for the top seed in the Western Conference. Houston can match the second-longest victory streak in NBA history with a win in Atlanta on Wednesday night.  ... [link]
