Wizards 108, Nets 88
After winning seven of their last nine games, the New Jersey Nets laid an egg tonight. In embarrassing fashion, the Nets lost to the Gilbert Arenas-less Washington Wizards by 20 points at home. The final score was 108-88 in favor the Wiz.
The Wizards, now 3-12, picked up their first road win this season. Unbelievably, this was also their first win over an Eastern Conference opponent after 11 straight losses. The Nets three-game winning streak was snapped as well.
The Nets committed 11 turnovers to the Wizards seven, along with the discrepancy in assists: New Jersey had 14 to Washington's 33.
The true swan song for the Nets in this game was the field goal percentage (or lack there of). New Jersey shot just over 40 percent, while Washington was an impressive 51.8 percent from the field.
Once again, Nets point guard Devin Harris out-shined the rest of his teammates with 18 points, but with a mere two assists. On the other side, Caron Butler was in All-Star form ...
