What you miss most about Reggie Miller is that Knicks fans no longer have a player they love to hate.
Michael Jordan was feared. Hakeem Olajuwon was respected and Miller was hated.
Film-maker Dan Klores gives us the opportunity to re-live the hatred in his new documentary "Winning Time: Reggie Miller vs. The New York Knicks" which will air in March as part of ESPN's 30 for 30 film series.
At a private screening in Manhattan on Tuesday, you felt as if it were the mid-'90s again as John Starks head butts Miller and the fun begins. The film, which tells the story of two basketball crazed towns and the Pacers-Knicks rivalry through 1995, is excellent and Miller is the star of the documentary. He tells great stories about getting under Starks' skin and what it meant to represent the state of Indiana going up against Madison Square Garden and New York City.
Of course, Spike Lee is featured in the film as well and there are several amusing scenes of Spike taunting Reggie. No two opponents ...
