Yes, you heard right.
The Saints have finally released Deuce McAllister. He's gone.
Well, this isn't really a surprise. Ever since Deuce's carries diminished in 2008, it was a positive that he was going to be let go.
This will be a blow to the fanbase, though. He was a fan-favorite and a great help to the community.
He was a class act on and off the field. He didn't complain when he split rushing duties with Bush back in 2006.
This is definitely a sad day indeed.
But look on the bright side Saints fans! Moving into 2009, we have some extra money to sign some new players on the defense.
Yet, we will never hear another Deuce chant again.
In the end, he will be remembered as the greatest running back the Saints ever had.
