New York Mets: MLB's Real Lovale Losers

 
Once, in the very beginning of the 20th century, there were three magnificent baseball club's in the greatest city that the world has ever known, New York City. The Dodgers, the Giants, and, of course, the Highlanders (the Yanks) played in that extraordinary city. They battled each other and so did their fans, tooth and nail. The players fought each other on the diamond, and their fans battled each other in the street corners, parking lots, bars and even on the steps of their churches. The Giants, played at the Polo Grounds along with the Metropolitans (not todays Mets) starting in the 1880s. The Giants were first named the Gothams (very cool name) but, eventually, it was changed to the Giants. The Dodgers changed their team name several times. From the Brooklyn Brides grooms (very corny) in 1880, the Brooklyn Super Bas in 1889, the Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers in 1911, the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1913, the Brooklyn Robins in 1914, back to the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1932, and, of course, the Los ...
