NFL: Patriots make offer to Thomas

After the Miami Dolphins let linebacker Zach Thomas go earlier this month it was only a matter of time before Thomas hit the road looking for a team to play for in 2008. First stop - the New England Patriots. The Patriots, who have made it a habit to sign other teams cast aways, offered a contract to Thomas today. New England was the first stop on Thomas’ free agency tour and according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, the visit went great. The next stop for Thomas will be New Orleans and then onto the Cowboys. But lets be honest, the Patriots should be Thomas’ first and last stop on his tour. Why? I got two words for you. Junior Seau. Thomas, who is 34, was let go by the Dolphins on February 14th. Thomas had only played in 5 games in 2007 due to various head  injuries, but stressed that he is healthy and will be ready to play in 2008. Thomas is a 7 time Pro Bowl linebacker  and led the Dolphins in tackles 10 times in his 12 years in Miami. (link)
