NFL: United Kingdom to Host More Games

 
Fans in the United Kingdom could be able to enjoy up to four games per season on home soil in the future, said Mark Waller, NFL Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and International, in an interview with Reuters. Last October the eventual Super Bowl champion New York Giants defeated the Miami Dolphins 13-10 at Wembley Stadium in front of a sell-out crowd in the first NFL regular season game played outside of North America. The attendance and support at that game impressed NFL executives enough for a second game to be awarded in 2008, with the New Orleans Saints giving up one of its eight home fixtures to host the San Diego Chargers at Wembley on Sunday October 26th. The number of NFL fans registering for tickets for this year’s game is enough to sell out Wembley seven times, and that support could ensure that gridiron supporters in the UK have more chances to see NFL games in the future.
