NHL Power 15: Sharks and Canadiens Top the List!
NHL POWER 15 - NOVEMBER 1ST EDITION
The latest edition (Nov. 1) of the NHL POWER 15 is calculated using a variety of stats. First and most important is points, but that is followed by win-loss ratio and last year's record.
For instance, the Pittsburgh Penguins currently rank 13th in the NHL Standings, yet they are placed fifth here. That is mainly because of the Penguins' success last year, in '07-'08. Also, teams like the Hurricanes may only have 12 points but they are actually 5-2-2. The Sabres, who rank fifth in the NHL standings, are low because they didn't show much skill last season.
San Jose SHARKS (18 pts, 9-2-0)
Montreal CANADIENS (15 pts, 7-1-1)
Detroit RED WINGS (16 pts, 7-2-2)
Minnesota WILD (13 pts, 6-2-1)
Pittsburgh PENGUINS (12 pts, 5-4-2)
New York RANGERS (21 pts, 10-2-1)
New Jersey DEVILS (12 pts, 5-2-2)
Boston BRUINS (13 pts, 5-3-3)
Calgary FLAMES (13 pts, 6-3-1)
