The magic number is four; well for two teams, reaching that number will mean they get a shot at the World Title. The other two will obviously go home wondering, "What if?" Tonight the National League Championship Series begins in Philadelphia tonight when they host the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Phillies, the top-seeded team in the N.L., breezed through the wild card with a three-games-to-one win over the Brew Crew. The Dodgers, the N.L. West Champions, absolutely dominated the Chicago Cubs with a clean sweep, after they took the first two games at Wrigley. Derek Lowe is pitted up against Cole Hamels in game one. This is destined to b a very physical series where you will see the home teams not necessarily having any advantage other than fans. Manny Ramirez is loving L.A. and who wouldn't, especially having Joe Torre as your manager. He is playing better and his team is feeding off his great play at the plate and in the outfield.
