No. 3 Jankovic holds on to avoid upset

Facing match points, and with her serve letting her down, third-seeded Jelena Jankovic asked for some divine help to get her through her first-round match of the Australian Open.
"I was praying, 'please God, help me get out of this situation,"' she said after a grueling win over Austrian teenager Tamira Paszek on Monday. "I didn't want to go home, and that was what was driving me, what was pushing me to go forward.

Not surprises, yet. Serena Williams defeated Jarmila Gajdosova with a double 6 - 3 score. But Serena didn’t look that good. She had troubles when she had to run to the sides of the court, and then her shoots were with less power. She has to improve on that. Justine Henin shown a rock solid game against Aiko Nakamura.
