It was early September, and the Cubs led the Pittsburgh Pirates with two out in the top of the ninth inning. Closer Phil Regan had a two-strike count on Willie Stargell, and the wind was blowing in. In the next few seconds, Stargell turned on a pitch that he bounced off Sheffield Avenue -- and turned the Cubs' season on its head. (link)
