UNC has picked up on the recruiting momentum lately, rising to the second-rated class of 2009. But why is that news? Everyone know Roy Williams brings the recruits home just like bacon. Folks, we're talking North Carolina FOOTBALL. Yes, Carolina is at the top of the rankings in the college football recruiting world—which means absolutely nothing except that Davis is on the right track.
The trick is for the talent to translate to wins, which the Heels arguably struggled with this season. The class has 29 commitments, and is ranked behind Jim Tressel's Ohio bunch, high company for UNC's second-year coach. Check out some of the big names here . The rest of the ACC lags far behind. The closest ranked class checks in at No. 14, according to Scout.com. Florida State ranks 19th, and Maryland rounds out the top 25. The future of the program is bright, and all the pieces are present.
