Notes: Donnelly to become free agent

 
The Red Sox elected to let right-hander Brendan Donnelly become a free agent by not tendering him a 2008 contract by Wednesday's midnight deadline. The Sox are still in negotiations with the reliever and remain hopeful that they'll eventually come to terms on a deal. [link]
