Notes from the SpyGate summit

 
Some thoughts and observations on yesterday’s SpyGate summit in New York: • If Jets QB coach Brian Daboll was “completely truthful and forthcoming,” as he said in a statement, how did he forget to mention the not-so-minor detail of quizzing Matt Walsh after the Rams’ walk-through? • I like Roger Goodell, I really do, but he made a few missteps along the way that created a “cover-up” perception. I just wish it wasn’t a windbag pol like Arlen Specter, with his own agenda, that was playing the role of watchdog. • I think the NFL, trying to prove to the world that it was in full-disclosure mode, would’ve played the stolen Walsh tapes on a JumboTron in Times Square if it could’ve been arranged. • I sat through the entire tape-screening yesterday, and here’s what jumped out at me: The Dolphins’ defensive signal caller in 2000 needed a serious diet; Pats QB Drew Bledsoe had a pretty good arm in his day; the Chargers’ cheerleaders are … um, ...
