Notes: Hochevar seeks rotation spot

Former No. 1 overall pick Luke Hochevar is in camp with the Royals and is hoping to make the team as a member of its opening day starting rotation. Hochevar posted a 2.13 era in 12 2/3 big league innings last year.

In the their second of back-to-back intrasquad scrimmages, the “Home” Brewers beat the “Road” Brewers 10-4. Of note, Prince Fielder went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBI. Tony Gwynn Jr. also drove in two runs and stole two bases as well. The Brewers will face the Oakland A’s on Thursday in their first Spring Training game of the year.
