Kevin Mench was the Rangers' designated hitter for the first exhibition game against the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday, a possible indication that he has a serious chance of being on the Opening Day roster.

mvn.com 2/28/2008 — In the their second of back-to-back intrasquad scrimmages, the “Home” Brewers beat the “Road” Brewers 10-4. Of note, Prince Fielder went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBI. Tony Gwynn Jr. also drove in two runs and stole two bases as well. The Brewers will face the Oakland A’s on Thursday in their first Spring Training game of the year.
