November 21: Today Is Not Just Any Other Day in the NBA

 
Not only is today November 21, but it is also my birthday. With that being said, I did some research into this day in the world of basketball. Here’s what I found:   1927 – The original Celtics play their first game of the new season at Madison Square Garden.   1965 – Basketball Hall of Fame announcer Chick Hearn begins his streak of broadcasting 3,338 consecutive Los Angeles Lakers games.   1996 -  With a 105-94 loss at Dallas, Los Angeles Clippers coach Bill Fitch becomes the first NBA coach to record 1,000 career losses.   2001 – The Denver Nuggets call up Chris Andersen from the Fayetteville Patriots, making Andersen the first D-League player to be called up to the NBA.   (Source:  Hoopedia )     Also some current and former NBA players that share this same birthdate:   Josh Boone, 1984 – currently plays for the New Jersey Nets   Stromile Swift, 1979 – currently ...
