Obama not quite ready to quit his day job

 
Just watched the video of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama playing a fun 5-on-5 pickup game with members of the North Carolina team on campus. Obama is a lefty guard, but he struggled with his game against elite college players. Hey, give the guy a break. He’s 46 and some of them are future pros. We just wonder if the school needed to obtain an NCAA wavier to make this happen. • First impressions can be long-lasting and new Providence coach Keno Davis was nowhere to be found last weekend during the Hoop Group’s Jam Fest, held on his campus. There were a lot of Big East caliber underclassmen at this high-powered event and Davis has six rides to give next year. We’d feel better if the two assistants Davis brought with him from Drake had stronger ties with the power brokers in our area. You can’t win in this league with walk-ons. • We notice it hasn’t taken long for new UMass coach Derek Kellogg to get his program up and running.  ... [link]
