Offers to Burnett will affect Jays' plan

The Blue Jays plan on making a push to re-sign right-hander A.J. Burnett, but are currently waiting to see what kind of proposals the hard-throwing pitcher receives from his other suitors. If Toronto isn't able to retain Burnett, the club might not make a run at any other free-agent starters.
