Oklahoma State Basketball: 11th Fastest Team In Nation

Oklahoma State men's basketball team has been ranked 11th fastest team in the nation by Ken Pomeroy. (kenpom.com) Travis Ford came in as the new Cowboy Head Coach after Sean Sutton was let go last year. His philosophy has always been fast paced/many possessions. He has accomplished that so far. Although Ford wants his team to be even faster, it is a big improvement from past Cowboy teams. In 2004, Pomeroy ranked Oklahoma State at 218th. The quickness could allow the Cowboys to run over some teams by out-scoring them. It might also help take up slack for the lack of size inside. Many Cowboy fans were worried about the change. Traditionally, Oklahoma State has been a conservative program with concentration on defense, stemming from coach Henry Iba all the way through Eddie Sutton and Sean Sutton. It didn't take long for the fans to adapt to the new style. And now, the Cowboys are looking at making the NCAA tournament for the first time in a while.   (link)
