Pac-10 makes it mark on draft

 
The Pac-10 continues to produce a constant flow of NBA first round picks. Six players from that conference - James Harden of Arizona State (3, Oklahoma State); Jordan Hill, Arizona (8, Knicks); DeMar DeRozan of USC (9, Toronto); Jrue Holiday of UCLA (17, Philadelphia); Darren Collison of UCLA (21, New Orleans) and Taj Gibson of USC (26, Chicago) - went in the first round of tonight's NBA draft. Interestingly, the first round came and went and no Pitt players were selected. Both DeJuan Blair (knee problems) and Sam Young (a finished product at age 24) were still on the board early in the second round. Biggest surprise of the first round: Minnesota going for two point guards - Ricky Rubio of Spain and Jonny Flynn of Syracuse - with the fifth and sixth picks, then selecting another point guard, Ty Lawson of Carolina, at 18.
