Packers Confirm Favre's Retirement

The Green Bay Packers have confirmed that quarterback Brett Favre has told them he is retiring. The team has released a statement from General Manager Ted Thompson that says: "Brett Favre has informed us of his intention to retire from the Green Bay Packers and the NFL.
