Sometimes I'm ashamed I call myself a handicapper.
Purdue looked so appealing last night as a mere 2.5-point favorite over Penn State.
Then I checked the box score and saw neither Hummel nor Kramer were playing for Purdue.
That's Purdue's second leading scorer and the best defender—the same defender, I might add, who I predicted would "slow down" Talor Battle.
Instead, the Penn State guard went off for 21 points.
A little research would've prevented me from a two-unit loss. And Villanova needed OT to squeak by Seton Hall, so I'm starting to think they're not very good. At least UConn was a winner, which saved me from having a completely disastrous night. Tonight I turn to my alma mater, Michigan, on the road against Indiana. I expect every Big Ten team to handle the Hoosiers this year, so I'm more than all right laying seven. I've only pulled out the three-unit play once this year (Notre Dame against—you guessed it—Indiana, which was a winner) so you know I'm ...
