Panthers-Saints: Will New Orleans Set Franchise A Mark With 8-0 Start?

The last time the New Orleans Saints were 7-0 Michael Jordan won his first title, we found out what "going postal" meant, the country became aware of a man in Los Angeles named Rodney King, and the Soviet Union collapsed. In Louisiana, former KKK leader David Duke lost the governor's election to future convicted felon Edwin Edwards. Yes, it's been a while since the Saints have experienced this kind of success. An 8-0 start would be a "first ever" for the black and gold. In order to achieve midseason perfection, the Saints must beat the Carolina Panthers —a team, despite its 3-4 record, that will prove to be a tough test. Carolina and head coach John Fox have owned New Orleans. The Panthers have won six of the past seven meetings against the Saints, and Fox sports a 5-1 record in head to head meetings against Sean Payton.
