Papi not sweating Blue Jay blowout

TORONTO - Here in Toronto the Red Sox didn’t seem too upset after getting shellacked by the Blue Jays 11-0, even though it potentially leaves them out of the AL Wild Card lead for the first time since May. Typically, David Ortiz summed up what the Sox are really thinking even though they are now 3-7 against the Jays with eight more contests between the two teams. “We’re fine, Bro,” Big Papi said. “We go though this (garbage) every year. At the end of the day, we’ll take another ring with us.” For a long time it has seemed like the last playoff spot would go to either the Yankees or the Red Sox as the Wild Card. The strong play of the Twins and White Sox indicate it might be as likely that neither gets in. - By Roger Rubin (link)
