Pelfrey's no-no is history

Mike Pelfrey’s no-hit bid ended in the seventh inning when Aaron Boone led off with a line single in front of Ryan Church. The Mets have yet to toss a no-hitter in franchise history. Boone was erased on a caught stealing, by the way. The closest the Mets have come to a no-hitter? Tom Seaver’s performance on Sept. 24, 1975 at Wrigley Field, when Joe Wallis singled with two out in the ninth. The Mets lost that game to the Cubs, 1-0, in 11 innings on a bases-loaded walk by Skip Lockwood to Bill Madlock. Seaver had contributed 10 scoreless innings. [link]
