Peterson, schedule reasons for optimism

The Vikings are one of three NFC teams at 6-6 after a 42-10 rout of the fast-fading Lions on Sunday. They still trail Arizona and Detroit in the race for the final wild-card spot, but the Vikings have a swagger now thanks to a solid running game and good run defense.

During an otherwise boring, injury-filled game a fan, or as Bryant Gumbel would have it -- a couple of yo-yo's, ran out onto the field at the end of the 1st quarter.
