Phil Jackson at front of Lakers Head Coaching Dillema

 
I understand Phil Jackson's health is a concern, but the Lakers should refrain from making Kurt Rambis their head coach. I know he is knowledgeable on the triangle; He knows the Laker players well. But there's a big difference in being an assistant coach and a head coach. Leadership is a major requirement to be a head coach. A characteristic which I believe Kurt Rambis lacks. He was disastrous in his first stint as an NBA Head coach. I don't think he has the mental toughness to command Kobe's respect. Without Kobe's respect he certainly won't last long. Players like Kobe Bryant are sharks; once they smell blood in the water they feast upon their prey. Does Kurt Rambis have anything he can teach Kobe that Kobe doesn't already know? Phil always had something new to show his players. Rambis was the one who orchestrated that Laker defense in the beginning of the year. The same defense that was easily figured out by opposing teams 10-15 games into the season. He never adjusted to what ... (link)
