Phillies-Kazmir: Nightmare for Met fans?

 
If only the other two LCS teams had won - then it would have been the Yankee fans’ nightmare of the Red Sox vs. Joe Torre’s Dodgers. Instead, Squawker Lisa is all too pleased that the World Series will feature the Philadelphia Phillies, the “team to beat” in the NL East for two years in a row now, against Tampa Bay and their ace, Scott Kazmir. But the biggest postseason nightmares are when you feel like it should have been your team out there, and this is not one of those times. Last year, the Mets collapsed and allowed the Phillies to squeak past them by a game. Once in the playoffs, the Phillies were quickly swept by the Rockies in a series featuring a grand slam by Kaz Matsui. That was a nightmare. This year, the Mets would have had no shot in the postseason with their wretched bullpen. Teams just don’t get to the World Series with that sort of arson squad. Look at Tampa Bay.
