Pirates add Mientkiewicz to squad

Prior to Wednesday's game against the Tigers, general manager Neal Huntington announced that the team purchased the contract of Doug Mientkiewicz, giving the versatile veteran the final spot on the bench.

My grandmother, grandfather, dad, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. were and are all Cub fans. My grandparents actually remembered the Cubs’ last World Series win over the Tigers in 1908. Will I have to wait as long for another Pirates World Series title?
