Most of the hallmarks of a Huggins-coached team are readily visible when Pitino watches film of West Virginia. The man-to-man defense. The relentless pace. All of it is only too familiar to the Louisville coach.

Rodriguez will be joined by six former Mountaineer coaches and five members of their support staff, choosing to keep only one of Lloyd Carr's assistants: Fred Jackson as running backs coach.

Cincy upset Louisville in Kentucky but followed it up with a wacky 70-58 loss to St. John's. The Bearcats are averaging a mere 64.5 PPG, which in theory should be anywhere near enough to keep up with the Orange (85.9). Deonta Vaughan leads them with 15.9 PPG and 4.1 APG and he is the only player averag
