Pittsburgh Pirates Revolving Door Spins Again

 
The Pittsburgh Pirates roster shakeout continued in earnest today, as the club made one deal with the New York Yankees and are said to be on the verge of a second with the Washington Nationals. The deal with the Yankees sent utility man Eric Hinske to the Bronx along with $400,000 for outfielder Eric Fryer and pitcher Casey Erickson.  Fryer was hitting .250 with a pair of home runs and 24 RBI with high Class-A Tampa and will be assigned to the Pirates high Class-A team in Lynchburg, Virginia.  Erickson was 3-3 with a 2.25 ERA in 21 appearences with the Yankees' low Class-A team in Charleston.  His ERA out of the bullpen is 1.10.  He will be assigned to the Pirates low Class-A team in Charleston, West Virignia.  As part of the deal, the Pirates have recalled outfielder Garret Jones from AAA Indianapolis.  He will be in uniform tonight when the Bucs take on the Chicago Cubs at PNC Park.  Jones was hitting .309 for the Indians with 12 HR and 48 ...
