Plaxico Burress: Behind Bars for a "New York Minute"

 
Troubled Giants WR Plaxico Burress surrendered to New York authorities today at 8:03 AM. He arrived at the 17th precinct via black Cadillac Escalade amidst a steadily growing throng of onlookers. He is currently being held in Manhattan, awaiting a lift to New Yorks' central booking (a.k.a "The Tombs"). Aptly named as it is a labyrinth of hallways, staircases, and holding cells. The normal procedure for inmates in central booking would be a mandatory search, then he would be placed in a cell with a number of other inmates awaiting arraignment later in the afternoon. After his arraignment he will, most certainly, post bail and be allowed to return to his home in New Jersey. Burress faces one count of criminal possession of a firearm. This charge carries anywhere from one to five years in prison. Seeing as how Burress will be aggressively represented, it is very possible that these charges will be dropped to a misdemeanor and he would serve no time in jail.  New York has some of the ...
