Plaxico Burress' Latest: Antonio Pierce To Testify Against Burress
Giants' middle-linebacker Antonio Pierce has reached an agreement with New York authorities, the details of which will have Pierce testify before a Manhattan grand jury in the near future.
Pierce will testify against Burress, the Giants wide receiver recently suspended for four games for conduct detrimental to the team an place on the non-football injury list, effectively ending his season, and in all likelihood his career in New York.
The testimony, along with the deal reached today, would help Pierce avoid prosecution and any possible jail time.
"He's going to have to testify" a New York law enforcement official told The Washington Post.
Burress, who was released from jail on a $100,000 bond faces two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He stands to receive three to 15 years of jail time if convicted.
The Post also reports that with Pierce's testimony and the evidence gathered thus far, they are all but ensured a indictment against the embattled receiver.
