Poll: Does targeting stars go too far?

 
Yesterday, Blue Jackets Coach Ken Hitchcock told reporters that he did indeed tell his players to target Alex Ovechkin -- "Run, chase, hunt down, hit, whatever word you want to use that would be correct," he said -- in their game against the Caps on Sunday. "That's the name of the game," Hitchcock said. "Why, is that against the rules now?" Is it? Not exactly, but Ed Frankovic argues that one specific incident did cross the line: Well yes Ken, jumping a guy by your bench during a stoppage in play is against the rules and using the words "hunt down" to describe it is even more despicable and is a disgrace to sports and the NHL. In fact, this whole incident, from the punch by Jason Chimera to the mugging by Jared Boll to Hitchcock's comments, has no place in the league and Gary Bettman and Colin Campbell need (link)
