South African President Thabo Mbeki brushed off suggestions Friday that an electricity crisis could hamper the staging of the 2010 football World Cup, pledging the tournament would be the best ever. [link]

McLoughlin, traveled with the U-17 team to the World Cup in Korea last year and was expected to blow up in college for the Washington Huskies next year. It's always good to see the young American talent go to where it can be developed best.
