Predators 2009 Offseason: Is GM David Poile Up To The Challenge?

 
In March, with the trade deadline looming, Jason Arnott, captain of the Nashville Predators, asked GM David Poile to go out and get some much needed offense. At the time, Steve Sullivan finally found his former scoring self after returning to the ice from a two-year hiatus. The result of a back injury. All seemed fine for the Predators, who were surging at the time and looked like they were going to make their fifth straight post-season appearance. Poile did nothing. The Predators then sustained some key injuries with Jason Arnott suffering a concussion, Martin Erat breaking his leg off a Shea Weber slap shot and David Legwand breaking his cheek bone. The Predators ended up missing the playoffs by four points. Now, with the free agency frenzy upon us, will Poile step up to the plate and improve an offensively-challenged squad?
