Rajon Rondo does not sweat. This Boston Celtic point guard will run up and down the court for ten minutes, do fancy footwork, charge through the trees, and hit the target. He exerts tons of energy and power, but looks serene. Rajon may sit on the bench for a rest now and then, but once stuck between a sopping Kendrick Perkins, or soaking Kevin Garnett, Rondo is pristine and dry. Unlike other teammates who use a dozen towels to dry off, Rondo merely uses towels as decorative and fashionable statements of his rumored status as the best-dressed Celtic off the court, and as the best roller blading player in the NBA. Why then does sweat-free Rondo wear an upside down sweat-band on his head? Many years ago Red Auerbach once saw another Celtic whom he noted did not sweat. This he attributed to being “in perfect shape.” The sweat-free player was a legend among legends: John Havlicek. His nickname was Hondo.
