Rangers Looking at Sheffield?
zonersports.com 12/11/2008 — Shockingly, Sheffield slugged only .400 last season. He just turned 40 and hasn’t reached .900 OPS since 2004. So someone tell me–if the report is true–why they would be trying to acquire him. For $14 million you could have Adam Dunn, Pat Burrell or Bobby Abreu.

Jackson Trade Smart For Rays
dugoutcentral.com 12/11/2008 — Got to disagree with Tyler on this one. I agree that the Rays traded a source of strength to address a weaker area but Edwin Jackson, though not a polished pitcher, has shown promise and has potential to develop. I would have considered trading Jackson but would have looked for a better OF option.
