Midnight may have finally chimed for the Cinderella Duke Football team this season.
Another year in the rivalry with North Carolina and another loss. Duke has only won the game one time in the last 19 seasons.
Saturday's loss breaks the Blue Devil's three-game winning streak and most likely ends any hopes they had of planning in the post season.
North Carolina out muscled Duke from the opening kick to the end of the game. If Carolina had any kind of offense themselves they could have put the game away early.
The Blue Devils managed to give the illusion that this game was close, but the fact that they are clearly the worst running team in the country finally caught up with them.
Quarterback Thad Lewis faced pressure and the highly touted Duke passing attack never got off the ground.
Duke's defense was pounded all game by a very physical Tar Heel rushing attack and they had no answer.
Good luck next week against Georgia Tech who likes to run the ball just a bit.
