The shutout of receivers in the first round of the NFL draft Saturday led to a second-round bounce-back. Nine wideouts were selected in the second round. The surprise developments were that the first wide receiver taken was Donnie Avery of Houston, 33rd overall by the St. Louis Rams, and the third receiver to come off the board was Jordy Nelson of Kansas State, 36th overall by Green Bay.
