Red Sox give Francona new deal

Sunday was a bad day for the Yankees in Red Sox camp - Boston manager Terry Francona got a three-year contract extension, including a two-year club option that could keep him in the Fenway dugout through 2013.

The Red Sox and manager Terry Francona have finally agreed on a contract extension which will keep Tito as the Sox manager until 2011. The deal also has two options for 2012 and 2013. From this morning’s press release: “On behalf of John Henry, Tom Werner, Larry Lucchino, and the Red Sox organization, I am very pleased to make this announcement.”Updated info on Tito's deal
