Red Sox Look To Head Home With A Sweep

 
Today's game at Yankee Stadium could be the last trip to the Bronx for the Boston Red Sox. With the New York Yankees falling 7 games back of Boston in the AL Wild Card standings, their chances of making the playoffs are very slim. Today could be a historic day at the stadium. If the Red Sox are to revisit Yankee Stadium this year then the Yankees are going to have to complete a historic comeback. Today's pitching match up is a battle of the aces. Taking the hill for Boston is lefty Jon Lester. Lester has been hands down the most consistent player for the Red Sox this year. Lester is 12-5 with a 3.49 ERA this year.  However, Lester is coming off of his worst start of the year. He lasted just 2.1 innings allowing 7 runs on 8 hits. It's a start that Lester will want to forget. Lester has had success against the Yankees this year. In 3 career starts against New York Lester is 2-0 with 4.12 ERA.
