Tonight’s pitching matchup was the equivalent of a heavyweight title fight, Dan Haren for the Arizona Diamondbacks versus Josh Beckett for the Boston Red Sox. Now here’s something you don’t see too often in a big league game. An infielder leaving the game due to an injury while warming up to start an inning. After the end of the 4th inning, the Boston Red Sox took the field and started their infield warmups. Things seemed to be going fine until a Mike Lowell throw was short to Kevin Youkilis and bounced into Youk’s eye.Diamondbacks vs. Red Sox - Box Score - June 23, 2008
