Red Sox outfielder and legend Jim Rice missed making the Hall of Fame in his 14th year of eligibility, meaning he has one more year of appearing on the HOF ballot. Rice got 72.2% of the vote, which was just short of the 75% needed for enshrinement in the Hall. It is likely that Rice will make the Hall in 2009 now that he is so close to getting in.
