Red Wings-Predators: Detroit Edges Nashville in OT

There isn't much to say about this one. Both teams played very conservatively down to the end and kept things relatively unexciting. It was good to see the Wings pull out a win in such a tightly-played game. Dan Ellis stole the show with a 35-save effort, but Dominik Hasek was very strong as well, finishing with a 22-save shutout. He was aided by the post and crossbar about four times, but made a number of big saves on his own. If that was any indication of how he'll play in the post-season, the Wings should be in fair shape. Johan Franzen still cannot be stopped. Here's hoping he can keep it up in the post-season. His game-winner took entirely too long to go into the net, though. I so wanted to see Aaron Downey go with Jordin Tootoo. I understand why it didn't happen, balance of momentum and all that, but it would have been fun to see.
